Good questions

Everything you might want to know before a letter lands on the doormat.

What is DLT Kids?

A hand-drawn, hand-written letter from Prickly the hedgehog, posted to your child every month. Each one comes with an illustration, a little treasure, and a wax seal.

What arrives in the post?

A magical letter from Prickly, handwritten and addressed to your child by name; a story from the forest; a hand-drawn picture; a little natural treasure that Prickly found on his travels; a drawing activity; and a wax-sealed envelope with a tiny paw print stamped in gold. Curious what Prickly writes? Read Letter One.

When are the letters posted?

Letters are posted from London on the 20th of each month.

How much does it cost?

It’s £14.99 a month, and you can cancel any time. You can also pay for 6 months (£84.95, which saves £4.99) or for a year (£160 for 12 letters, which saves £20).

Can I try one letter first?

Yes! A single letter is just £5.99.

Where do you post to?

So far I’ve posted to addresses across the UK, the US and Australia. If you’re somewhere else, email me and I’ll let you know.

Does my child start in the middle of the story?

No. Every subscriber’s story starts at Letter One, personal to them, whenever they join. Prickly’s story starts fresh for each child, so there’s nothing to catch up on.

Can I give it as a gift?

Yes, and it’s a lovely one. Use the gift page to tell me who it’s for, when the first letter should arrive, and any personal note you’d like included.

How do I cancel?

You can cancel at any time, either through the customer portal link in your confirmation email or by emailing me. Cancelling stops future renewals. It doesn’t refund the current billing period, because that letter is already being prepared or has been sent.

What if a letter is lost or damaged?

Email me with your order details and I’ll put it right, with a replacement or a refund, whichever makes sense.

Is postage included on cards and prints?

Yes. Postage is included on every Christmas card and every print, so the price you see is the price you pay.

When is the last day to order for Christmas?

For the UK, please order by Sunday 13 December. For Europe, the USA and Canada, please order by Tuesday 1 December, and for everywhere else by Friday 27 November. Orders after that are still very welcome, they just might not arrive before Christmas.

What are the Christmas letters?

Three letters and three woodland adventures, leading all the way to Christmas Eve, sent together as one cosy package for £29.95. They are posted within a few days of ordering. To arrive before Christmas, please order by 13 December in the UK, 1 December for Europe, the USA and Canada, or 27 November everywhere else. I’ll be in touch personally once your letters are on their way.

Who makes it?

It’s just me, Emily. I draw and write every letter by hand, seal each envelope with real wax, and pack and post them personally. You can see how each letter is made.
