A mum wrote to tell me her four-year-old daughter got her first letter from Prickly on a Sunday.
In the letter, Prickly had invited her to write back to him — to the woodland, with the help of a bee called Buzzy who fetches the post.
That same Sunday morning, before the letter had even arrived, her daughter sat down and wrote her own letter to the woodland — thanking it for the trees, the plants, and the animals. They walked out to their garden, which backs onto real woodland, and posted it into the trees.
That afternoon, Prickly's letter arrived. The little girl had spent the morning having a tea party with her stuffed animals.
Prickly's letter was all about him having his first ever tea party, with a bee.
Neither of them knew what the other was doing.
